This hotel was set in a central area short walk to Clifden, and the bar/restaurant. Its personnel was very helpful and flexible, no complaints. The food was excellent - a wide array of options.

Loved the charming local vibes and the very nice, locally sourced seafood chowder was a highlight.

The location was very near to where my family came from in Ireland & the hotel had a bicycle I was able to use to get there. That was a great extra service they offered me!
The people in the room next door were a bit noisy, the walls didn't seem very soundproof. But it wasn't too bad, I still was able to sleep.

refreshing, refreshing, refreshing
I loved the cozy bar atmosphere, where I could unwind and enjoy some live music with locals. The seafood chowder was divine, creamy, and bursting with fresh flavors unique to the region. Plus, the hotel's commitment to using locally sourced ingredients.
can recommend 😊❤️

the service level of the owner and the employees is very good; the hotel infrastructure reflects recent investments, nevertheless the rooms are cosy and old-fashioned style, the site is in roughly equal distance to Kylemore Abbey, Cleggan, Clifden, (air)port to the Aran Islands, Galway (on the way Glengowla mine and Aughnanure castle) => just perfect in Connemara
you have to accept the remoteness of Carna Bay itself (it's more a '+' than a '-')

I like Carna Bay Hotel because it has Character. It is not a hotel that you may not find any difference whether you stayed in carna or anywhere else in the world. The staff was very hospitable and pleasant. Breakfast was superb, again you know that someone made it with thought. I will definitely go back.
The room was a bit small but it did not matter because in Carna you do not want to be inside the room very much.

Sweet as spot in the hills! Staff were super kind, but the WiFi in the room was pretty much non-existent. The food was a highlight, especially the chowder!

The staff were friendly and it was close to the rugged coastline that I love. Tea was very tasty. The veggie lasagne and salad that I had for
There were no toiletries in the bathroom and the breakfast was only average- the quality of the meat wasn't great. The pint of guinness[not for breakfast!] was a bit of a let down too.
